STEM is addressed in the Australian Curriculum through the learning areas of Science, Technologies and Mathematics, and through general capabilities such as Numeracy, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capability, and Critical and Creative Thinking.
Our STEM Room is a well-resourced learning space within the Resource Centre. It boasts a smart TV and dedicated lab sinks, carrels, 3D printer and specialised equipment. Our students enjoy a range of STEM activities that extend their horizons, such as external Aboriginal STEM competitions like Switched On Indigenous Youth Inventors, visiting specialists, and the Spheros programme.
The Technologies
The Technologies is comprised of two subjects:
Design and Technologies: Students use design thinking and technologies to generate and produce designed solutions for authentic needs and opportunities.
Digital Technologies: Students use computational thinking and information systems to define, design and implement digital solutions.
These subjects are embedded into curriculum areas mainly associated with STEM.
This school is part of the South Australian Department for Education and Child Development trading as South Australian Government Schools.
